Taking Care of Yourself

Hey Friends and Happy Holidays!

I want to turn our attention to something we as moms go through so often. The overwhelming feeling of just not being enough for our families. Being so tired both physically and emotionally that you just don’t feel like taking on one more thing. Maybe for some it is not wanting to use that sequencing chart for one more day, not wanting to drive to one more therapy, or research one more topic but you keep going because that overwhelming sense of “mom guilt“ puts a horrible pit in your stomach if you take time for yourself .

I am here to tell you it is not only okay but very necessary to take time“ off” from the grind. Take a few days off from implementing every single strategy you use with your child, seek respite care for your child through family or county agencies. Remember you are the captain of the ship and you need to be at your best in order to get the best for your child.  This means your own self care has to be the number one priority.

So, schedule yourself some time each and every day, week, and month.  Hit the gym, go to lunch etc.  It will be hard at first but I promise it will change your outlook to a much better place.

All the Best to everyone of you!
